Savute Under Canvas
Savute Under Canvas is situated in the Savute region of the Chobe National Park which encompasses 11 700 km2 of wilderness, bordered in the north by the beautiful Chobe River, and buffered on all sides by wildlife management areas and forest reserves allowing for the free movement of game. A wildlife enthusiast’s dream, Chobe National Park is one of the top wilderness reserves in the world and is home to the largest single concentration of elephant.

The previous night we had seen two wild dogs chase a leopard up a dead tree but the wild dogs were not successful and the leopard managed to get away - quite an exciting moment but it was too dark to take photographs. While stopped for morning coffee this loan Blue Wildebeest decided to come down to the water hole to take a mud bath and it moved all along the waters edge and at times stopped to roll in the mud.

While enjoying sundowners, we were watching the last of the Zebra migration in the Savute. We then noticed this zebra and he was very lucky to have got away but was left with some very nasty wounds across his hind legs.

While doing a bit of bird watching at a dam of water these two Elephant Bulls came charging at each other from behind the trees, lucky that we were sitting on the other side of the water!
